What’s the difference between carbon neutral and net zero?

Carbon neutrality focuses only on removing carbon from the atmosphere, whereas net zero focuses on removing all greenhouse gases (GHGs) – such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane, or sulphur dioxide. Hence, Net zero is similar in principle to carbon neutrality, but is expanded in scale.
